I am still pinching myself and can't believe this is really happening, only two more months to go and there will be a book on the bookshelves with my face on it. That's crazy! I've been stressing out for all the unnecessary reasons since the final copy of the book was sent to the printer because I know there is no turning back - I can't change the recipes, I can't even change a word in the book anymore. Consumers out there are going to buy the book and cook my recipes for families and friends! It is a scary thought to think that it is getting real. But it is too late for me to panic now and all I could do is crossed my fingers, hoping you all will like my first cookbook, 'Have you eaten?' when it comes out on 1st September 2012.

Book description: Food has always played a key role to Malaysian-born Billy as well as in his home country where it's not uncommon to greet each other by asking "Have you eaten yet?" Instead of "How are you?". When Billy migrated to Australia in 1996 he also took his inquisitive palate to a whole new culinary world. That's when he started cooking not just cuisines from his home soil but also started experimenting with the new flavours of his adopted homeland and the world. The juxtaposition of two different cultures has allowed Billy to submerge himself in an endless combination of Eastern and Western cuisines. From start to finish, it was a five months solid of writing recipes, cooking, testing, to photographing and styling all the dishes. You'll notice almost every page is illustrated. It was a daunting task to shoot every single page in the cookbook because basically it doubled up the workload and took twice as long. I had to time it well and pushed myself to get least 15 recipes done every week - write, cook, test, style, shoot, repeat; write, cook, test, style, shoot... But now looking back, it was well worth the effort and hard work, and I am very stoked with the results.
Now, the cookbook may look like they come in two covers,
one for Australia/NZ and the other one will be published in oversea, actually it is only one cover which is the one with my portrait on the front, but UK/US will come with the extra jacket of a bowl of laksa. So but don't panic, all contents/recipes are exactly the same, we even converted all measurements in both metric and imperial on all recipes! Currently all the pre-order on UK websites including amazon UK, book depository, WHSmith, etc will be the one that comes with the jacket. I believe the cookbook will be out on 1st September in Australia, NZ and UK. But sorry our US friends will have to wait just a little longer.
