A boy will appear in court today after breaking into a restaurant in Port Lincoln overnight.

It will be alleged that just after 3am on Friday, April 23, police were called to a Hallett Place business after reports of a break-in.

They located a 12-year-old boy inside a restaurant, who had also allegedly stolen cigarettes from a nearby service station.

He was arrested and charged with serious criminal trespass, theft and breach of bail.

The boy was refused bail and will appear in the Port Lincoln Youth Court today.
