Denver, CO – Water Grill
Up the block at 1691 Market Street, Water Grill will have Denver awash in seafood feasts. The restaurant was founded by the family-owned, Southern California-based King’s Seafood Company, which has four Water Grill locations in California and one in Las Vegas. Expect upscale seafood platters, a raw bar with a large variety of oysters, and whole crustaceans (including massive king crab).

Granger, IN – Dean’s Barbecue and Restaurant
When he considered what type of restaurant he wanted to open, Phil Gulis admits, the idea came more from a practical place than a sentimental source. Partnered with his brother Tim, the Gulises will open Dean’s Barbecue and Restaurant, located in the same complex as Beef ‘O’ Brady’s and The Chief Ice Cream along Indiana 23 in Granger, in February.

Berkeley, CA – Tane Vegan Izakaya
The team behind Shizen, San Francisco’s wildly popular vegan sushi restaurant, is bringing more of their plant-based Japanese cuisine to a new restaurant in Berkeley. Called Tane Vegan Izakaya, it marks owners Kin Lui, Raymond Ho and Casson Trenor’s first expansion of one of their existing restaurants.

Las Vegas, NV – Wakuda
This spring, Wakuda will be the first fine dining Japanese restaurant to open in the neon capital of the world, Las Vegas. It will be the third outpost owned by two-Michelin-starred Chef Tetsuya Wakuda, following Waku Ghin and Tetsuya in Singapore and Sydney respectively. Situated within The Venetian Resort, guests will be greeted with authentic Japanese dishes inclusive of an impressive omakase while admiring the city lights from the restaurant’s patio.

Pittsburgh, PA – EYV
EYV: The three-lettered initialism comes from a directive that most kids disdain but adults know (and need) to heed: Eat Your Veggies. Chef Mike Godlewski of the Duquesne Club and formerly The Foundry will open his first restaurant, which “will be a vegetable-forward restaurant utilizing local farms where vegetables are the star and center of the plate, with meat and seafood playing supporting roles.” Look for it on the North Side in the spring, along the Deutschtown stretch of East Ohio Street.

Round Rock, TX – Via 313
Round Rock’s first Via 313 location is underway at 2111 N. I-35, Ste. 380, with an opening expected in in the second quarter of 2022, possibly April, according to a company representative. The restaurant specializes in Detroit-style pies and serves pizza, salads, appetizers and desserts as well as housing a full bar.
