A Perth restaurant owner and manager has appeared in court on charges of sexually assaulting female employees.

It is alleged 48-year-old Maurizio DiCiano physically and sexually assaulted six female employees working at his Italian restaurant No Menu, in the inner Perth suburb of Highgate, last year.

Police said the workers were aged in their 20s and 30s and were all foreign nationals who were recently employed in their roles when the alleged offences occurred.

The charges against Mr DiCiano include three counts of sexual penetration without consent, nine counts of unlawful and indecent assault and four counts of common assault.

Police said their investigation was ongoing and detectives were urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers.

Mr DiCiano appeared briefly in the Perth Magistrates Court where he was not required to plead to any of the charges.

His bail was renewed with an added condition that he report to police once a week.

The case was adjourned until August 3 after the police prosecutor said time was needed for “some issues” to be dealt with and to examine whether more charges would be laid.
