A unique new restaurant named Karen’s Diner has opened in Sydney and, unlike most venues, its owners are encouraging customers to complain.

The venue at World Square on George Street serves up “Great Burgers and Rude Service” by staff who are paid to act in an unprofessional manner.

“At Karen’s you will be greeted and waited upon by rude waiters who in return are expecting you to give it full Karen,” the diner’s website reads.

‘Karen’ has become a viral term referencing a middle-class woman of privilege who loves to complain.

The diner plays on this stereotype, encouraging guests to “ask to speak to the manager” and whine about even the most minor inconveniences .

Aaron Rovuck from the restaurant told Sunrise he wants customers to “let out some pent-up rage” and “become the Karen that you were meant to be.”

“The staff here are happy to take it. We love it, give it to us,” he said.

Despite the bad service, Karen’s boasts a full menu of American diner favourites such as burgers, milkshakes, fries and more.

They are also offering free drinks to people who can prove their name is actually Karen.
